Founded in Augusta in 2001, Savannah Riverkeeper serves as the primary guardian of the Savannah River, striving to respect, protect, and improve the entire river basin through education, advocacy, and action. Whether hosting cleanups, patrolling waterways for pollution, or engaging in grassroots activism, Savannah Riverkeeper focuses on ensuring clean water for more than 1.5 million people in three states. Because they work directly with citizens, officials, industries, and lawmakers, they are unlike any other advocacy group.
Savannah Riverkeeper’s team consists of diverse, strong-willed individuals who dedicate themselves daily to our valuable water resources, plus a network of volunteers who are always willing to “get into it!” to protect their river. Savannah Riverkeeper is a non-profit organization funded by individuals and foundations who share our commitment to a healthy watershed that sustains life and is cherished by its people. Consider joining as a member today and help secure a drinkable, fishable, swimmable Savannah River for today and for generations to come.
