New Executive Director

Author: Molly Swift

The founder of Augusta Locally Grown, Kim Hines, has stepped down from her position as Executive Director. We would like to wish Kim all the best as she departs and offer our congratulations to Becca van Loenen, the new Executive Director. We look forward to seeing Augusta Locally Grown continue to grow throughout the Augusta region under her guidance!

Kim's statement is reposted below.

IT IS A PROFOUND HONOR to welcome aboard our new Executive Director, Becca van Loenen, selected by our Board of Directors to take the helm at Augusta Locally Grown.

Becca brings a passion for building to the task. She’s got well developed plans for helping farmers build their businesses. She’s ensconced in the community in a way that will build new partnerships and ventures. And she’s determined to build long-term capacity for our small organization and its big mission.

More to the point, Becca just loves this stuff. You’ll see her at the farmers markets, baby Zoe in tow, because the farm-to-family lifestyle is a natural fit. She’s a gardener and a cook - not afraid to get dirty - but she can also throw on that business suit and advocate for big plans and big goals and all the requisite resources we’re gonna need to grow our local food system.

Please let my last FB post for Augusta Locally Grown beget the BIGGEST love fest for this wonderful woman in her new leadership position.

Becca van Loenen

Cheers!
