Augusta’s Only Salon + Art Studio
Thanks to COVID + having a newborn around, the increased grey hair was taking over and this mommy decided she needed a hair makeover. A quick text to Nikki PowPow with Undertone Salon, and I was booked for my session in Downtown Augusta.
Nikki has held my hands over the years as I slowly ventured from virgin hair to committing to a semi-permanent color job, but this time I wanted to go all-in with color + highlights and hoped maybe we could recreate the beautiful Instagram hair I had become envious of the week prior.
I am usually a quick in and out hair girl, stick with the usual style, dark in summer, even darker in winter. I had to talk myself into the fact that the 3-hour visit would be WORTH IT, to get this new look. I know, I know, that is actually a small amount of time for hair for many, but this was stepping out on a limb for this momma.
While I have been to this salon before during COVID times, so it was more of a quickie hair appointment with no wandering. (Also, don’t worry, they follow all the COVID salon regulations as well.) With 3 hours to kill, I came to realize this is also an amazing art gallery as you walk through the hallways, along with learning about ALL the other services they now offer from nails to facials and massages (mentally kicked myself for not booking other services during this coveted me time, but no worries, I will be back!).
Hair is definitely a personal choice, but when she turned me around to see my finished hair, I could not believe that it was actually MY hair, and she had turned it into it's own beautiful piece of art. Nikki, I promise to not keep your creation in a ‘mom’ bun and show off your work in the upcoming weeks.
Where else but Undertones Salon in Downtown Augusta can you enjoy art by local Augusta Artists, get full-service salon pampering, and walk out feeling like the goddess you are by the end of your day? If you are looking for a new salon, and want an above-average experience, give them a try!
Pro-Tip - plan brunch or dinner after with your favorite girl or guy pals at one of the MANY delicious downtown eateries to show off the new and fabulous you and make a day of it!
