2020 is designated as the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife by the World Health
Organization in recognition of their contributions and to highlight the risks associated
with growing nursing shortages. The College helps students build robust knowledge

across healthcare disciplines, and a variety of service learning experiences. Augusta
