The “Fred Sanford” of Augusta. 4,200 sq. ft., three floors and
yards full of vintage and retro collectibles, used furniture,
decor, rusty gold & archi-salvage at affordable prices! With
the help of 20+ dealers, Mema Had One prides itself on
offering the unique and obscure; the casual and fun. What they strive to be is probably
better described as what they try NOT to be: hoity, toity. According to co-owner, Pam
Hayes, their mantra is peace, love and junk - Mema Had One embraces the integrity
and quality of the past, while also honoring its simple, and sometimes primitive, ways.
What’s in a name? “Mema” was the term of endearment for Pam’s maternal grandmother. The next time you’re strolling around our shop and spot an interesting old object, chances are… your Mema had one too! “I grew up with small antiques around the house, as my folks were antique lovers,” Pam said, “My Dad took me to my first estate auction around age 14 and I immediately contracted the fever.” By her late ’30s she’d collected enough to open the storefront in 2011. Pam has a full-time career as an art director for a local marketing firm, so Candice Lee and her mom, Pam, run the day-to-day operations and are the smiling faces at the store. Stop by and say hi!
